4 minutes 36 seconds| Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is also the name of a psychedelic drug: 2,5-dimethoxy-3,4-dimethylamphetamine.
This is two pieces joined, where the second is the first played backwards with melodic embellishment. I do not recall the precise chronology going forward, but the break in time may have been as much as a year before both compositions were brought together.
Two time stamps: The second half was commenced 2/21/10, two weeks after my father passed. The first half is an orchestral score of a pre-Garageband composition called Paper Airplane (1986), which to that point existed only for solo piano. This orchestration was started 9/31/11, after the tentative completion of Symptom Palace, and included new transitional material.
