6 minutes 3 seconds| Christ takes Peter, James, and his brother John to a mountaintop to reveal his true identity. The music proceeds through a series of misty switchbacks, and builds in a disjointed, Mahler-like way until the soaring climax is reached.
In January 2022, I was diagnosed with Fuchs Dystrophy, which is a corneal eye disease that will eventually require surgery. I will also require cataract surgery at the same time. As a visual artist, it is a little like being Beethoven and finding out you are going deaf, though perhaps my situation is not so dire.
It is more than synchronous that I was writing this piece of music, which touches on my faith, at the time I received my diagnosis. As I describe in my current novel-in-progress, God involves Himself in your life in terms unique to you. A person with autism requires more convincing than the average person, so God arranges facts and events in subtle ways that leaves little room for doubt.
